The object is simple - pick the 12 players from the list provided
who will hit the most total home runs during the regular 2025
Major League Baseball Season. League Championship & World
Series games will not count. Season-ending playoff games, if
necessary to determine playoff teams, will count in the Derby.
You will pick one player rated AA, three rated A, three rated B, three rated C and two rated D.
** New in 2022 **
On the first day of the season, you are permitted to replace one player with another player of the same group (AA, A, B,etc.)
This one replacement will NOT count as one of your 3 substitute players. The player replaced will not count for your score, and will be
removed from your team completely and replaced with your selection. This rule was created due to a large number of teams having a player
on their team that was not playing that year. To take advantage of a replacement, make a sub using the "Subs" page and I will replace the
player manually for you.
During the season you will be allowed 3 substitute players.
If you wish you can sub in player X for player Y, and then in your next sub, put back player Y
for either X or another player, or you can put in a new player each time. It is up to you.
Substitutions are made online, and must happen before noon eastern time
for the day you wish to make the switch. You will get an email confirmation of the sub, letting you know when it will take effect..
Players that are substituted must be on the initial list, and must be in the same group. You can not take
out an A player and replace it with an AA player, or even vice-versa.
Prior to the season starting, you can make an unlimited number of subs. Just go to the "Subs" page once you create your team.
Wager
(Apr 10 deadline to receive it)
The fee is $10 per team.
Payment can be made by Venmo, Paypal, credit card, check or cash. Details will be in your confirmation email.
Entry Deadline
Entries need to be in before noon (EDT) on Thursday March 27th.
You can change your entries before the deadline simply by resubmitting your team, or going to the "Subs" page.
Only one team is allowed per email address.
I understand that there are some games that take place before the deadline. Those games count for the standings. If you want to jump to an early lead, wait to see who hits a home run in the early games and chose that player. It probably would not be the best overall strategy though...
Prizes

Last place (free entry next season)
Best 5-Day streak
Best Month
Best Month, but did not finish in the top 10 overall.
The exact dollar amount for the various prizes will be posted once the season starts. The percents are approximate, as money is set aside for the bonus categories, and possible ties. All money is paid out.
Ties
In the case of entrants having an equal number of HR's, the official
at bats per HR will be used to break the tie. The fewer at bats the
better (except for last place, where having more at bats is worse.)
Ties for the bonuses are not broken, the winnings are split.
Standings Report
There will be daily standing reports posted on the web site. This report will provide info on all teams in the league and allow for subs to be made.
Injuries
Players injured during the season are just part of the game. If you have one of your three
substitutions left, use it, otherwise you are out of luck.
